Meet this week’s featured staff….Elva Smith, Director of Rusk County Kinship! Rusk County Kinship works to improve the quality of life for families, children, and developmentally delayed adults by providing adult/family mentors and activities that promote stability, support, friendship and community. Elva works with coordinating the program, planning the many fundraisers and client activities, and making a huge difference in the lives of Rusk County residents! Here is my recent interview with Elva:
What motivated you to become involved with or work for Indianhead Community Action Agency?
Elva Smith: I believe in the Kinship program!
What are you proud to share with your family & friends about ICAA?
Elva Smith: We help people and change lives through experiences that we are able to provide our clients.
What do you most enjoy about your work for ICAA?
Elva Smith: Working with people!
What is something most people do not know about you? Any special interests or skills?
Elva Smith: My husband and I were Kinship kids. I love musicals and scrapbooking!
What keeps you working for ICAA? What makes you stay?
Elva Smith: I believe in the Kinship program!
What is one story you can share about your work with ICAA?
Elva Smith: I love Kinship Camp! It is so rewarding to see the youth get excited about the outdoors and simple activities.
